Session 1 - Week 2 | Who is God?

We begin by exploring the character of God as the original Creator of order, purpose, and relationships. What does it mean for us to be made in His image (tselem)? This session helps establish our foundation of value and worth.

Session 1 - Week 3 | Who am I?

In this session we saw that we are made in His image (tselem), but sin and death have separated us from the order and purpose that God intended. The Fall has also damaged God's perfect design for Creation and revealed that our spiritual enemies are seeking to destroy God’s purpose in our lives.

Session 1 - Week 4 | How Jesus Changed Everything.

We are stuck in sin and death until God provides a solution in Jesus - His birth, sinless life, death, resurrection make a pathway back to being renewed in His image.

Session 1 - Week 5 | How Does The Holy Spirit Operate in My Life?

We've learned about The Father as the one, true God and Creator all, and Jesus, the Son who is our Savior and Lord, but what about the role of the Holy Spirit? The Spirit works from within, teaching us how to live in God's renewed image.

Session 1 - Week 6 | Crucified with Christ - A New Start!

Identifying with Jesus’ death in confession and repentance is the first step in leaving our old self behind and walking in renewal and freedom. Baptism celebrates this transformation by the power of God's Spirit.

Session 1 - Week 7 | Raised to New Life - Life in the Spirit

The saving and renewing work of God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit is truly amazing and awesome! Last week we saw how we can identify with the death of Jesus and “consider ourselves dead to sin but alive to God”. Now we move into living out of the power of Jesus’ Resurrection by receiving new life by The Spirit’s presence in me...

Session 1 - Week 8 | The Stuff Behind the Stuff

This week we’ll think deeply about living in the power of the Holy Spirit - sometimes called Sanctification or being Spirit-filled. We learned how we can receive the gracious gifts of forgiveness and new spiritual life through faith - but the problem is that the memories of our hurts, hang-ups, and habits still remain, causing us to sometimes feel like nothing in our life has changed, or that we can’t truly live in victory.

Session 1 - Week 9 | How Can I Experience True Freedom in Christ?

Christians can find it easy to get stuck in a “spiritual hamster wheel”, trying to manage behaviors in their own willpower, but is there a better way to experience freedom in Christ? How can the Holy Spirit help us move past “behavior management” to live in true spiritual health? Are there signs that indicate the Holy Spirit is active in my life?

Session 1 - Week 10 | All Things Renewed- Our Future Hope

We’ve explored the Story of God’s already completed work as Father, Son, and Spirit, as well as His present work in our daily lives. Now we turn our attention to the future hope we have as believers in Jesus! Where is this story headed? Jesus’ victory over sin and death at the cross and empty tomb set the stage for something even greater yet to come...

Session 1 - The Hope of Advent

This week begins Advent, the season on the Christian calendar that

prepares our hearts for the celebration of Christmas by focusing on four aspects of our

walk with God: hope, joy, peace, and love. We do a lot of preparation for the holiday,

but the most important is preparing our hearts to welcome Christ in a new way, and

prepare our minds to understand the Incarnation with fresh insight!

Session 1 - Finding Joy in Advent

Session 1 - Finding Peace in Advent

Bible speaks often of peace, but rarely to describe the absence of conflict, chaos, or struggle. Those challenges are a natural part of living in an earthly world damaged by sin, selfishness, and injustice. Advent reminds us that a day will come when God will put all things right, but how do we experience peace in the waiting?
